Evan Coury: Head of Graphics
Evan Coury is a creative, young-minded individual who enjoys friends, computers, and the amazing world of design. Growing up, he absolutely loved playing with toy dinosaurs and transformers. He played baseball from the age of five until his ninth and last year of baseball when he was fourteen in eighth grade. He first became interested in the world of graphics and design toward the end of eighth grade. His curiosity sparked an interest, and the urge to buy Adobe Photoshop CS2. Feeling like he could do anything after merely three or four days of having the program, Evan decided to get involved making forum graphics such as signatures, avatars and userbars. While comparing his own work to other peoples work and realizing he wasnt great after all, he decided it was time to take a break from the design stuff and move on to bigger and better things. Well he gave it a year and decided to pick back up on Photoshop. During his junior year in high school he took Graphic Art 1 with his soon-to-be favorite teacher, Mr. Schoof. Evan's passion, motivation and inspiration for becoming a graphic designer set off at this time. It was time to buy some CS4 material. That summer, after completing the graphic arts course and expanding his knowledge, creativity, skills and mind-set, he came up with the idea of starting a business for graphic design. What to name it? Retribution Designs. After contacting Chris Maixner about being his partner, they both became very fond of the idea. They worked on everything to get ready to launch all while Evan was still 17 years of age. To start a successful graphic design business at the age of 18 was Evan's new dream. As always, as time goes on this story will too.
Chris Maixner: Head of Web Design
Chris has always been a creative minded individual. From a young age he had prided himself on being hard working, but always fun loving. When he was only 5 he was playing with the ’10 year old’ Legos. This creativity followed him through karate, cub scouts, computers, and drum lessons. Chris continued with these hobbies for many years. In 5th grade, he was the only Cub Scout from his pack to bridge into Boy Scouts. Here he learned positive morals and good work ethics, not to mention how to have a blast. Soon his cousin introduced him to the joys of graphic design, aided by his strong knowledge of computers. This very creativity would soon be accompanied by an interest in music growing much faster than he was. Before he knew it, he was in the Franklin High School Drum Line. The excitement of a great marching band season was accompanied of that of preparing to obtain the rank of eagle. Meanwhile, as band season came to an end, swimming was sure to start. Influenced by his experiences in scouting, he went out for the swim team, and had his first incredible swimming season. While this was happening, two days before his 15th birthday he obtained the Rank of Eagle . His career in scouting is coming to an end no time fast. His thirst to learn about the world around him pushed him to learn about business, and co-found Retribution Designs. His interests have changed little throughout his life. Chris can’t wait to one day lead others in helping others in one way or another and his high outlook on life will positively never let him down.
